Coral
Coral is made up of the skeletal remains of marine animals called coral polyps. These tiny creatures live in colonies which form branching structures as they grow, eventually forming coral reefs. Coral can be found in red, pink, white or blue but red is the most valuable and has been used in jewellery for thousands of years. Most coral comes from warm waters, Japanese coral is red, pink or white. Red and pink coral can also be found on the Mediterranean and African coasts, the Red Sea and the waters off Malaysia and Japan. Coral is primarily a fertility stone for women, it eases menstrual cramps and aids a regular monthly flow. In older women it warms arthritic bones and joints and aids tissue and bone regrowth. It brings luck to the home and protects it from inclement weather. Traditionally worn by children to prevents falls, coral is a good amulet against accidents. Coral is important in love and sex. Bright shades of coral will attract passionate love. It is also an effective fertility charm.
